Maxwell Harvey-Sampson is a photographer living and working in Rochester, NY. Having come from a small, semi-rural town in northern PA informed Maxwell with a desire for cultural experiences that he would later fulfill through his photographic practice. Maxwell attended Corning Community College from 2011-2013 and ultimately graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2017. Maxwell has a keen interest in social documentary; of markers and documents of time and place, photographed in a way that is in line with the era of documentation. His work is also strongly rooted in the connection made between photographer and subject during the taking of a portrait. Maxwell plans on continuing his practice of photography through the acquisition of artist residency and mentorship programs, as well as, intends to complete graduate and post-graduate degree programs.
